Sudden death

A word game for a group. Everyone answers the same seven prompts, and if two of you give the same answer to the same prompt, you are both out. The players left standing are ranked by how rare their answers were.

How a room works

  1. Start a room and send the link to anyone.
  2. Each person opens it, picks a name and plays the day's prompts whenever they like before midnight UTC.
  3. Give the same answer to the same prompt as someone else in the room and you are both out, even if they answered hours earlier.
  4. Answers stay hidden until the day ends, so nobody can play around them.
  5. After midnight UTC the room shows the winner, everyone's answers and who knocked out whom.

Why the obvious answer is dangerous

In a room of six, "dog" for "Name an animal" is almost certainly taken. "Axolotl" probably isn't, and it scores more as well. Every prompt is a guess about what your friends will say, and the safest answer is the one only you would think of.

Questions

How many people can play in one room?

There is no limit. The more players, the harder it gets to avoid a match.

Do my friends need an account?

No. They open the link and pick a name.

What if I already played today?

Your round counts. Join the room and your answers are checked against everyone else's.

When are the results in?

At midnight UTC. The room link then shows the winner, everyone's answers and each knockout.
